We're hard at work finally, putting the new site look up, and making sure all the content is fresh and newly updated. Please bear with us over the next week or two if you find something missing or a broken link or two. We are working hard to get caught up so if something doesn't work right today, please check back tomorrow!
If you're looking around for a few of the sections we had before, I'm sorry to say that some of them are just plain gone. I decided it was time to narrow the focus of the site a bit to make sure we can really do a good job of covering the things we kept around. We were getting a little thin before, trying to offer something for everyone. We've got a new sitemap here though, so you can see all the sections.
Awe, the challenge of it all. So many cool things to buy, so little time and money! We're the same as you, we love to have the latest and greatest gear whenever we go out. In fact, there are those among us who have even been referred to from time to time as "gear sluts". So, this section sort of gives us an excuse to emrace our addiction, and that's just what we'll be doing.
Now we also know that from time to time, a vendor will stumble across this site without our help and wonder how they go about making us aware of their new gadget so that we can take a look at it. No worries, we've got a solution for that. If you've got a new piece of gear or a gadget you'd like to let us know about, you can contact our gear editor here.
As we get started talking about gear and gadgets, we have to pay homage to a man who has to rank right up there near the top of the "gadget fanatic" list. Steven Roberts headed out clear back in 1983 aboard his fully computerized recumbent bike, and he hasn't stopped yet. He's moved into boats during his progression, but each of his prjoects were bristling with high tech gadgets. He like to keep current on what he's up to, and if you haven't checked out his latest project, you should!
We are a huge fan of LED Flashlights. We love their bright light and long battery life, and they seem to hold up to a bunch of real-world abuse better than other conventional flashlights. Now the folks at Planet Bike have made an LED Bike Headlight that is not only bright, but looks cool too! Their basic models come in either a 3 LED or 5 LED configuration, but if you are really wanting to light up the night, go for the Cygolite Hi-Flux 200 LED light with NiMH battery. From what we can see though, the absolute top of the heap is the Alias HID set. This monster is like strapping the landing light off a 747 to your handlebars. Add one of their "Blinky" blinking red Rear LED lights and you'll be one easy to see biker, no matter how dark it gets while you're on a ride.
