We're hard at work finally, putting the new site look up, and making sure all the content is fresh and newly updated. If you're looking around for a few of the sections we had before, I'm sorry to say that some of them are just plain gone. I decided it was time to narrow the focus of the site a bit to make sure we can really do a good job of covering the things we kept around. We were getting a little thin before, trying to offer something for everyone. We've got a new sitemap here though, so you can see all the sections.
Henry's Lake is one of those little gems of a Lake that is just hidden away enough to keep it off the radar of many people. Its proximity to Yellowstone National Park puts it in the higher elevation lakes, so the season here can be a bit short, but the scenery and uncrowded nature of the lake more than make up for the short season. The State Park here opens typically the Thursday before Memorial Day, and closes October 31st, weather permitting.
The lake carries healthy populations of Cutthroat, Brook and Rainbow-Cutthroat hybrid Trout. There is a good boat ramp at the state park, along with 44 camp sites and some camping-cabins that are available to rent during the summer season. The park itself sits just 15 miles from Yellowstone Park, making it a great addon to a Yellowstone vacation.
While the State Park is fine, if you prefer to rough it in a little better style, you can't go wrong by staying in a cabin at the Jared's Wild Rose Ranch Resort. Their cabins are a great place to rest your head after a day of fishing, and they've got their own small boat ramp and a few slips to tie up in if you're bringing your own boat along.
