Jordanelle
is Utah's newest reservoir, damning the Provo River near
Heber, Utah. Close proximity to Salt Lake City makes
this a popular place for day trips and such. Personal
water craft are also allowed on the water here, so you'll find
that a summer weekend day will have a lot of activity
here. If you're looking to get away from the crowds,
this may not be your best bet in Utah.
|
| However,
if you just want to get the bottom of the boat wet, and you
don't have a ton of time for an extended trip, this is a great
lake. The location of the lake tends to make it a bit
breezy, in fact the first trip up there this summer, we found
ourselves battling high winds just about the time of day where
everyone decided to trailer the boats and head for home.
The wind was blowing at about a 45 degree angle to the
boat ramp, so it made for some exciting load-ups. I also
wound up leaving an anchor up there that trip, snagged
hopelessly on a stump at the bottom of the lake. But
despite all that, we still enjoyed the trip. |
