 - For those of us who think pavement is superfluous -

Lot's of Jeep, Hummer and other 4x4 information in here!

Ok, you're here, looking at this area of our site, so we don't need to say much about why we go four wheeling, right?  I've tried to explain it to those who've never tried it, but it sort of defies explanation.  Oh well, we know we love the sport, so let's get into it.
One of the things we think you should do before you leave here is visit our Land Use Issues section.  Folks, the fight to keep our public lands open is nowhere near over, and I truly feel like we're up against a bunch of people who are well funded, who know how to manipulate the media and how to present their case in such a way as to paint us all with a brush that makes us look like a bunch of wild drunken maniacs, crashing through the brush in our rigs, chasing bunnies and destroying the landscape.  You and I both know that we love the lands we visit and that we want to preserve them in such a way that our children and our childrens' children can enjoy them, but if we don't get involved, these lands are gonna wind up locked up.  This is serious!  Please take a few minutes to at least get informed about the current state of the fight!

On a more personal note, I've been going around and around on what to do with my 1977 CJ-5.  It's showing it's age a little bit these days, and could use some work.  But with the new TJ's being turned into very capable rock crawlers all around me, I have to admit I'm a bit tempted to sell the old girl and move into something a little newer.  Check out the Project CJ pages for the low down on what I'm doing to try to decide which way to go.
