Finally - a new look!
We're hard at work finally, putting the new site look up, and making sure all the content is fresh and newly updated.  Please bear with us over the next week or two if you find something missing or a broken link or two.  We are working hard to get caught up so if something doesn't work right today, please check back tomorrow!

Some sections gone
If you're looking around for a few of the sections we had before, I'm sorry to say that some of them are just plain gone. I decided it was time to narrow the focus of the site a bit to make sure we can really do a good job of covering the things we kept around. We were getting a little thin before, trying to offer something for everyone. We've got a new sitemap here though, so you can see all the sections.
Toyota
Toyota and the FJ Cruiser

Over the years, the Toyota badge has been bolted onto some very trail-worthy rigs, and the line-up has gathered a following that is every bit as faithful as any other brand out there. Who can forget the mighty FJ-40, the only vehicle at the time that gave the Jeep CJ-5 a serious run for the title of toughest off-road rig right off the factory floor.

Along with the FJ, the Land Cruiser model also gathered a huge following of fans, most of which found that the kids, the dog and all the camping gear just couldn't quite fit into an FJ. The most recent model in the Toyota lineup seems to combine some of the best elements of both. The FJ Cruiser draws many of its style points directly from the original FJ-40, the Blue paint topped with a White roof for instance, the big round headlights in front framing a grill that draws its look directly from the original. But while the styling is obviously a throw-back to the original FJ, this time Toyota didn't overlook the fact that most of us like to haul a fairly good pile of gear with us when we go into the back country. The FJ Cruiser has seating for 5 with room left in the back for a pretty good pile of gear, and if you don't have room there, a tough factory option roof rack gives you even more room to stow stuff.

We're such a fan of the FJ Cruiser that we decided that we just had to have one, so the official Redrock Outdoors FJ Cruiser is parked outside the office as we write this. We've already added a few modifications, and more are in the planning stages as we turn this already trail ready rig into what we think will be an "expedition ready" rig. We're going to cover our build-up here, step by step and with lots of pictures. We'll show you which particular parts we chose to add and we're going to do as much of the work ourselves as possible so we can really give you honest reviews of how well each piece fit, how good the manufacturers instructions were and more. For lack of anything more creative, we'll call this section of our site "Project FJ" and we hope you'll check back here often to keep up on the changes. We'll also want to hear from you as we work on this, you'll be able to post in our Forum or if you'd rather shoot us a direct comment, you can do that from our Contact Form. Also, as we explore the various goodies and parts, we would love to hear from you parts manufacturers and distributors who want to suggest your parts for our consideration. You guys can get us with our Vendor Contact Form.
