Finally - a new look!
We're hard at work finally, putting the new site look up, and making sure all the content is fresh and newly updated.  Please bear with us over the next week or two if you find something missing or a broken link or two.  We are working hard to get caught up so if something doesn't work right today, please check back tomorrow!

Some sections gone
If you're looking around for a few of the sections we had before, I'm sorry to say that some of them are just plain gone. I decided it was time to narrow the focus of the site a bit to make sure we can really do a good job of covering the things we kept around. We were getting a little thin before, trying to offer something for everyone. We've got a new sitemap here though, so you can see all the sections.
GPS Navigation and Such
GPS Navigation

There is something remarkable about GPS technology. We've been interested in it from the day we first got involved, and I don't even want to tell you how many years ago that was! Let's just leave it at this, my first GPS had no maps, no way to interface to a computer, and at times the "estimated position error" was as high as 100 feet!

Since GPS technology first landed in our hands, the developments of new gadgets that are GPS capable has grown by leaps and bounds and there is almost no one around now who isn't at least reasonably familiar with the technology and in fact many people are already starting to take it for granted as navigation systems become commonplace in our vehicles.

We'll try to keep this section of the site well rounded, we like to use GPS navigation when we're in the wilds or on the water, but we also like to do a little geo-caching just to get out and find new places to explore. If you've never tried a geo-cache hunt, I'll suggest right now that you round up the kids and go hunt out a cache. I haven't met a kid yet who didn't get a huge thrill out of the "treasure hunt" aspect of this popular pasttime.

Event and Link Tracker Database
Our Event Tracking database is now online

We're bringing a couple of new features to the site today. One is our Event Tracker Database and the other is our Organization Tracker. With these two databases, we're now giving you the ability to tell the world about your upcoming Event, or to tell us about a Company, Club, Team, Non-Profit Organization, Website or the like. Using the links below, you can now add information in to the database, or see what we currently have listed.

While we're getting the thing populated, we're also working on more detailed search and query options, to make it easier for you to search for a local event or a specific vendor, organization, etc. Take a look and if you know about something that's not in here, go ahead and feel free to post the information

It's hard to go wrong with any of the Garmin line of handheld GPS units. Our personal favorite is the Colorado and Oregon lines. Over the next little while, we're going to be taking a Garmin Colorado out into the field, and we'll keep you posted on how it performs. As we worked out way down or own decision tree, trying to decide which model we were going to use, we decided that the touch screen wasn't a huge factor, and so we went with the Colorado line. The Oregon and Colorado lines are basically the same machine, the Oregon line uses the touchscreen interface and the Colorado line uses the Control pad and button setup.
